Common Questions

Flooring FAQ

What types of flooring do you install?

We install hardwood, luxury vinyl plank (LVP), laminate, ceramic and porcelain tile, and carpet. For basements and high-moisture areas, we recommend LVP — it's dimensionally stable and more forgiving than hardwood in below-grade environments.

Do you remove the existing flooring before installing new?

Yes. Full demo of existing flooring is included in our pricing. We remove carpet (including tack strips and staples), tile, vinyl, or hardwood, and dispose of all debris before installation begins. You don't need to arrange separate demo.

How important is subfloor preparation?

It's critical — and where most floor failures begin. A floor is only as good as what's underneath it. We repair squeaky or soft subfloor sections, level low spots with floor leveling compound, and confirm the surface is flat before any flooring material goes down. We don't skip this step.

Can you match existing flooring in an adjacent room?

For hardwood, we can often match existing species, grain, and stain profile. For LVP, we recommend choosing a product that makes a clean visual transition rather than trying to match exactly — most manufacturers can no longer match discontinued patterns. We'll tell you honestly what's achievable.
